The CSIs were shocked when they discover that Sheldon Hawkes was the prime suspect for murduring the bartender. They tried to prove his innocence, but Captain Stanton Gerrard pulled them off the case. Stella told Gerrard that if he threatens one of the CSIs again, he would be fired. Upset about the captain removing them from the case, the team works on a dead person in Times Square. Soon, it was discovered that he was killed by an elusive serial killer, Shane Casey. They were surprised even more when that case is related to the case of the dead bartender. The man who was killed at Times Square is the same person who killed the bartender. In addition, the ring the bartender wore was the same ring that Shane's brother Ian was wearing. Shane hired the peep show guy to impersonate Hawkes. He made a ransom to prove his brother's innocence so Sheldon would be released. Shane tricked them. Captain Gerrard made a mistake. Sheldon was framed. Shane's brother was indeed guilty. Shane was arrested for killing people with the T-Shirt, lying about his brother's innocence and hiring a peep show guy to impersonate and frame Hawkes. Upon his release from jail because of being framed, Sheldon sees Stella waiting for him. They embrace.
