Plot Overview

Two dangerous motorists, one reckless and one habitually drunk, pose problems for Jon and Ponch as they prepare to testify in traffic court against both. In the case of the drunk driver, Jon can't disprove that the driver and his wife switched positions to make it appear that the wife was driving, and his slick lawyer knows it, which results in the guy only being convicted of public intoxication and given a fine. The lawyer also represents the reckless driver and gets a continuance, but Jon discovers that the defendant has a long history of similar traffic violations under a number of aliases, which at least gets him off the road for good. The drunk driver is now back on the road, but Jon and Ponch arrive too late to avoid a tragedy. On a lighter note, a gas leak at the hospital results in a number of adorable babies being brought to the precinct, and Getraer instructs his officers on how to rock babies.
