Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Watcher

A watcher is a professional trained to watch over a slayer and to train her to help combat evil. They belong to an organization called The Watcher's Council, a large England-based organization of information-gatherers and occultists. They are devoted to keeping track of the supernatural threats around the world, and to a lesser extent, addressing them with squads of soldiers. Their primary role has always been to inform the Slayer to better enable her to meet the threats of the world. Over the years, this has turned into a way to control her.
