Big Brother Canada is a Canadian reality competition that aired on Slice before moving to Global TV beginning with its third season. It is a part of the Big Brother franchise created by John de Mol.

Like in other versions of the show, a group of people enter a house and agree to live there for a predetermined amount of days with cameras following their every move. An homage to George Orwell's book, 1984, the nameless entity known only as "Big Brother" records every conversation and every action among that group of people, establishing a social microcosm of today's world.

On June 5, 2017, series host Arisa Cox announced via Twitter that following the fifth season, Big Brother Canada will go on hiatus for the 2017–2018 season.[1]

The series is co-produced by Insight Productions and Endemol USA.
