- Action Stations
- Equivalent to 'battle stations' in today's Navy. See Condition 1.
- Ambrosia
- A bright green alcoholic beverage
- BSG
- (i.e. "BSG-75") Battlestar Group (roughly analogous to a modern carrier group)
- CAG
- Commander, Air Group
- Carom
- The angle above or below the XY plane of a vessel, perpendicular to bearing (c.f. "Mark" (Star Trek))
- CBDR
- Constant Bearing, Decreasing Range, used to refer to enemy or unknown vessels on an intercept course.
- Chamalla
- A drug used by priests to induce visions, also a folk cure for cancer
- CIC
- Combat Information Center. Equivalent to the ship's 'bridge'.
- Condition 1/2/3
- Combat conditions similar to the ones used in today's Navy.
- Condition 1 is a state of full alert where crew members are diverted to alternate functions such as damage control fire teams or investigators. Condition 2 is a state of ready awareness where combat and damage control equipment is prepared for action, while Condition 3 is every day operation. A good way to think of it is in Star Trek terms, with Condition 1 analogous to a red alert and Condition 2 to yellow alert.

- A sensor array similar to modern RADAR, save for the fact that it operates in the 3 dimensions necessary to operate in space. Stands for Direction, RAnge, DIStance.

- Faster Than Light
- Fumarella leaf
- Tobacco
- This is a reference to the original series convention of referring to cigars as "fumarellos".
