On January 4, 2015, I will be shutting down the server that hosts The TV IV website. It has been a very long time since I've been able to put any decent amount of time into the site, and ad revenue is plummeting. I think it is time to shut it down or hand it off to someone who can keep it going properly. If you are interested in taking over the site's code and data, contact administrators at --CygnusTMtalk

Electronic Countermeasures

Electronic Countermeasures are devices designed to confuse enemy detection systems, such as the Cylon version of DRADIS. ECM systems can do anything from faking more targets than actually exist to masking targets that really exist. In the Colonial fleet, it is not uncommon for Viper squadrons to have a Raptor tagging along to run interference using its advanced ECM systems.

Raptor ECM

Raptors are equipped with a range of ECM systems, including but not limited to:

  • Electronic signature decoys (Miniseries)
  • Radio jamming equipment (1x01 - 33)
  • Detection interference

These systems are generally run by the Raptor's Electronic Countermeasures Officer, although they can also be controlled from the pilot or copilot stations in an emergency.
