A 506th original and one of Major Richard Winters' closest friends, Captain Nixon served in the position of the 506th's battalion intelligence officer. Nixon had emotional issues, especially towards the end of the war when his girlfriend at home broke up with him via a "Dear John" letter. He had very particular tastes in liquor, and tended more and more towards drunkenness and dereliction of duty until the 506th discovered part of the Dachau concentration camp complex towards the end of the war, which reminded him of what they were fighting for.
