Basic Information

Shell Dockley is a psychopathic lifer who is in prison for kidnapping, torturing and murdering the woman who "stole" her boyfriend, and has the role of 'top dog' in G Wing. She has a sexual relationship with Jim Fenner and also with Denny Blood.

Character History

At the end of season one, Dockley seduces Fenner into her cell after smuggling broken glass back from Sylvia's party. She starts having sex with Fenner before stabbing him in the chest with the glass and taking him hostage.

During season three, she impersonates a member of the visiting TV crew and escapes with Denny Blood and Shaz Wyllie. Wyllie is quickly recaptured, but Denny and Shell go on the run. They pay a visit to Sylvia and Bobby Hollamby, steal from them, force them to dress up and serve them cocaine, then finally they force Bobby to climb inside one of his own coffins and then force Sylvia to seal it, douse it petrol and set light to it. Thanks to a tip-off by the recaptured Wyllie, the Police arrive in time to save Bobby, but not in time to capture Denny and Shell. They move on to stay at the home of the recently released Crystal Gordon. After Shell overhears Crystal telling Denny that she doesn't trust Shell and suspects she is carrying drugs, Shell plants a stash of drugs in Crystal's home and tips of the Police. Shell and Denny manage to escape to the Spanish coast. Eventually, Spanish police catch Denny Blood, but Shell escapes and is presumed dead.

Dockley reappears in a cabaret show in Amsterdam where four officers from Larkhall including Jim Fenner and Colin Hedges are spending a weekend enjoying the Red Light District. Fenner gives chase and initially tries to help Dockley escape, before the others turn up and apprehend Dockley. Eventually she is brought back to G Wing, much to the consternation of Sylvia and Bobby Hollamby.

It turns out that Shell Dockley has become pregnant while on the run in Amsterdam. She starts giving handjobs to prison officers as a deal with Jim Fenner. Eventually she moves to the Mother and Baby Unit to care for her son. Colin Hedges approaches her in her cell on the M.B.U. for some action, but Dockley refuses. An argument breaks out and it attracts the attention of the nurses and Fenner. Fenner covers up for Hedges and explains that Dockley was trying to kill her baby. Fenner arranges for Dockley to be shipped to a secure unit. Dockley is last seen being ghosted out of Larkhall.
