Plot Overview
Helen wouldn't allow Bill into the house, but Lenore came down in her peignoir and said it was all right. Lenore felt it wasn't necessary when Bill apologized for what Liz made her do. She was astonished when he showed her the paper with news of Missy's arrest, but there was also a dawning, very human, normal hope in her face. Madge told Charlie that Flo was really coming off the spool, then felt Missy had been justified when Charlie showed her the paper with Missy's arrest. Bill felt ashamed when Lenore offered her help in any way. Helen stared at her aghast as Lenore mused over the fact that Missy stood accused of a terrible crime. Charlie didn't buy it when Madge felt Danny could have driven Missy to murder. Walter ordered Buckley to check up on Danny's background at the Alley, then reminded him they found Pink Panther lipstick in Missy's belongings. Walter disapproved when Buckley said the matron overheard Missy say Bill's name. Walter relished the thought of Missy on the stand, since that's the only way the defense can introduce the notion of Sam.
