Plot Overview
With an infinitely sad little smile and through welling tears, Lenore broke it to her mother that it was over. Lenore felt she could have made Bill love her if they'd married, and flared up when Helen suggested Missy didn't intend to break them up. Lenore and Helen claimed little knowledge when Buckley showed up and questioned them about Danny. Bill gave the ring back to Liz, since she'd given it to him on the condition that it was for Lenore only. After phoning John, a numb Bill informed Liz that Danny was dead. Buckley was about to enter the office of D.A. Walter Curtin when he was accosted by reporter Hal Nash. Buckley reviewed his findings with Walter, then said he feels Bill and Lenore won't be getting married. Liz covered when Fred showed up as requested by filling him in on Bill, Lenore and Danny. He was surprised when she suggested reuniting Bill with Lenore to protect him from police suspicion. Walter pointed out the holes in Buckley's theory, but was interested to hear Bill had just been reported pulling up at the Randolphs.
