Game of Thrones is a fantasy drama that airs on HBO.

The series is adapted from the George R. R. Martin series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire. Rights for the novel were purchased by HBO in January 2007 with David Benioff and D.B. Weiss heading up the production as producers and showrunners. Additionally, Martin is set to write one episode per season.
