Hound of the Baskervilles (1972) is a TV movie adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic Sherlock Holmes novel about the murder of a wealthy heir. It aired as part of the ABC Movie of the Week and was intended as a pilot for a series to be called Great Detectives. Two other pilots for the series would air within the next month—The Adventures of Nick Carter and A Very Missing Person (also an ABC Movie of the Week)—but the series never sold.
