Season Two of 30 Rock premiered on October 4, 2007. Due to the 2007 WGA strike, only fifteen of the twenty-two episodes ordered for this season were completed.

Strike Info

When the 2007 WGA strike started in November 2007, the show was forced to shut down production after a few days. The only remaining script, Episode 210, was shot without rewrites and held until January 2008 before it was broadcast.

On November 19, 2007, the cast staged a live performance of Secrets and Lies, before the episode aired, at the UCB Theater in New York City. The performance, entitled 30 Rock Live!, was put on for a 150-person audience and included improvised commercial breaks and a live musical score. The proceeds from the show were donated to production assistants laid-off as a result of the strike.
