XEWT is a border-blaster station operating from Tijuana, Baja California (Mexico) while serving the San Diego market. Its transmitter is atop Mt. San Antonio, to the southwest of Tijuana and broadcasts on digital channel 32 (virtual channel 12). XEWT shut off its analog channel 12 in 2016.
XEWT signed on in 1960 on analog channel 12 as A Spanish independent. It became affiliated with the Spanish International Network in 1962, which became Univision in 1987. It switched to Televisa in 1989. Televisa, a Mexico-based network, has several offshoots and is carried on Tijuana stations that do not have a direct effect on the San Diego market. XEWT's programming started at 4 PM weekdays and 2 PM weekends, lasting until midnight. Its signal just could reach the north areas of San Diego county. It is now a 24-hour station and is on San Diego's cable systems.
