[edit] Behind the Scenes
This was actor Abraham Benrubi's first appearance on Wings after winning the role of Jerry Markovic on ER, and his second as R. J. Biggins. It was also a role that challenged the typical gay stereotype perpetuated by shows like "Will and Grace," because few people could imagine that a 6'7", 300+ lb. man could be gay.
The episode was originally supposed to end with R. J. and his lover marrying, but NBC rejected the ending.
