Whovian

Much like the Trekkie, a Whovian is a dedicated fan of the long-running BBC science fiction Doctor Who. They also dress up at conventions, discuss continuity issues, write fan fictions and the like, and the more fervid fan may considered social outcasts with their faux-British speak and interjecting the show and its characters in general conversation.

There is also no middle ground of love and hate of the show when a major character is either introduced or replaced with another. The 2017 announcement that the Doctor himself will (or has, as of Christmas 2017) regenerated into a female has lent itself into factions of those who wholeheartedly embrace it and those who swear they will never watch the show again ("butthurt" is a common term nowadays used to describe the latter).
