Who Wants to Be a Superhero? is a reality competition that aired on the Sci Fi Channel. Contestants were required to create a superhero to their choosing and then literally be that character for the duration of the program. An open casting call was held to determine the contestants that will appear on the air. The eleven finalists chosen are required to prove their heroic mettle by participating in activities that test courage, integrity, self-sacrifice, compassion, and resourcefulness.

The winner of the competition is promised two main prizes: a comic based on their character created by comics legend Stan Lee; and an appearance for that character in a SCI FI Pictures film.
