- The episode's title is a play on the 1956 science fiction film Forbidden Planet.
- In the opening, when Janet flies up and catches Wyatt, she tells him he has her to which he asks, "You've got me? Who's got you?" This is the same exchange between Superman and Lois Lane in the 1978 Superman film.
