NOTICE: SHUTTING DOWN 4 JAN 2015

On January 4, 2015, I will be shutting down the server that hosts The TV IV website. It has been a very long time since I've been able to put any decent amount of time into the site, and ad revenue is plummeting. I think it is time to shut it down or hand it off to someone who can keep it going properly. If you are interested in taking over the site's code and data, contact administrators at tviv.org. --CygnusTMtalk

Wanted: Dead or Alive is a western drama that aired on CBS.

Josh Randall is a Confederate veteran and bounty hunter with a soft heart. He often donates his earnings to the needy and helps his prisoners if they have been wrongly accused. Randall carries a shortened Winchester Model 1892 carbine, called the "Mare's Leg," in a holster patterned after "gunslinger" rigs then popular in movies and television. Randall had the ability to draw and fire this gun with blazing speed, as fast as, or in many cases much faster than, his adversaries with handguns that were much smaller.

Wanted: Dead or Alive, which was a spinoff of the Western series Trackdown, served as a springboard to stardom for series lead Steve McQueen, who later went on to a successful film career. The series was later adapted as a 1987 feature film of the same name produced by New World Pictures and set in the present day, starring Rutger Hauer as bounty hunter and ex-CIA agent Nick Randall, the descendant of Josh Randall.

Wanted: Dead or Alive was produced by Malcolm Enterprises and Four Star Television in association with CBS. StudioCanal now owns the TV distribution rights to the series (making it one of the few Four Star shows not under the ownership of 21st Century Fox, whose 20th Television handles TV distribution of most other Four Star shows), while Mill Creek Entertainment is the DVD distributor.
