Connie Furnell is an abused Woman who's Husband constantly batters her. She has pressed charges against him severals times, but in each case she had dropped the charges. Her Husband has said he will change. He doesn't. In fact he gets worst with each battering. Alex convinces her to not only press the charges, but to stick to her decision. She tells Alex that she will. However, the Judge who was presiding over her case had this happen before, and she always changes her mind. She will not listen to Connies story, and then have Connie change her mind. With no case, Connie is in a dilemma. With no case against her Husband, even though he was arrested, and in Jail, soon he will be released, Connie has no place to go. She is afraid to go Home. Alex invites Connie to stay at her Home. She also invites her to go on a Retreat with other Battered Women. Connie accepts. While there, Connie shares her stories with the other Women whose Stories are similar to her own. Meanwhile, her Husband has been released from Jail. He goes looking for his wife, and when he cannot find her, he goes balistic. He threatens to get his wife back, or else. He soon learns that she is at a Retreat. He goes there to try to convince her to go back with him. Having been with Alex, and the Women there, she refuses. She will not be suaded this tim e by her Husbands pleas. In fact she demands a divorce. When he hears that, he threatens her with physical violence. Foretunately, Trivette, and C.D. came along with the Women. Trivette stops him from physically harming Connie, but he could not prevent him from getting into his Van, and pursuing his Wife, and the other Women. He pursues the Women, but he would receive a beaten of his own, and not from Trivette, C.D., or Walker who having learned of the Guys threats drove to the Retreat to stop him from doing anymore damage. Walker arrives too late (a good kind of late). The Husband Brad does receive a beaten, from the Women including his wife. The women were taught self-defence from Trivette during their time there. With Brad beaten down, and immobile, and would soon be going to Prison, Connie can live her own life, with confidence.
