WTVF is the CBS affiliate for the Nashville, Tennessee market. It broadcasts on digital channel 5.

Channel 5 went on in 1954 as WLAC (TV counterpart to WLAC radio, 1510 khz). It has been a CBS affiliate since it signed on. It acquired CBS from WSIX/channel 8, which switched to ABC (it's now WKRN/channel 2). In 1975, the call changed to WTVF. Ever since its inception, channel 5's signal has been hampered through Tennessee by WMC, the NBC affiliate in Memphis, which also broadcasts on channel 5. As WLAC, channel 5 was the taping origination of the country-variety show Hee Haw.

WTVF also has NewsChannel 5+, a cable-only outlet that rebroadcasts the station's newscasts.
