- Dakota is one of several characters on TDI to have her last name revealed (in "Ice Ice Baby", it is revealed as Milton)
- As such, this makes Dakota a parody of celebutante Paris Hilton
- Dakota's original appearance, in which she has shoulder-length red hair with a flower in it and she wears a different outfit [1], was changed during the development of Season Four, Total Drama: Revenge of the Island, and recycled (with some minor changes) into the current design for fellow character Zoey
