Volkswagen GTI W12-650

Jeremy Clarkson reviews the Volkswagen GTI W12-650 concept car.

The Stig takes the Volkswagen GTI W12-650 around the test track in 1.29.6. Clarkson sarcastically offers up a tip: if you want a slow car that looks like a Volkswagen Golf, then buy a Golf.

The News

Opening up the news segment, Richard Hammond points out how their seats and television have changed. A fire broke out in the storage depot housing most of their props and the police believe it was the work of an arsonist. While discussing the possible identity of the arsonist, Clarkson believes it was the work of rival program Fifth Gear as they have been duplicating some of the incidents involved in Top Gear.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Aston Martin V8 Vantage N24

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May search for the best driving road in the world. Their search leads them to continental Europe, specifically the region containing the Alps, and start their journey in the mountains above Monte Carlo. But of course they also need a suitable car for the best driving road in the world. Hammond selects the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Clarkson the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and May the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N24.

Star in a Reasonably Priced Car

This week's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is Dame Helen Mirren, an English actress. Dame Hellen Mirren races the Chevrolet Lacetti around the test track in 1.52.8.

Cool Wall

Hammond and Clarkson kick off this season's Cool Wall, but unfortunately it was one of the casualties of the storage fire. Being unable to identify the cars on the burned photographs, Hammond and Clarkson are forced to move on.
