Thunderbirds is a children's animated sci-fi program that aired on ITV. This was another Supermarionation show from the world of Gerry Anderson. Millionaire Jeff Tracy sets up a secret organisation, to make rescues possible where there may be no other answer. The organisation - International Rescue has access to an array of rescue equipment, all designed by his long time friend Hiram Hackenbacker, who is affectionatley known as Brains. At the head of this equipment are the Thunderbirds, five vehicles piloted by Jeff's sons, each with it's own capability. He also has at his disposal Lady Penelope, who along with her car FAB 1 is able to take care of any enemy agents, including arch enemy The Hood.
