Thea is a sitcom that aired on ABC.Thea Vidale stars as Thea Turrell, a widowed mother of four who works in a Houston supermarketby day and runs a one-chair beauty salon on the corner of her porch in the evenings. Vidale was nominated for a People's Choice Award as Favorite Female In A New Series for her portrayal of the no-nonsense Thea. The series was cancelled shortly after only one season due to low ratings on the ABC network. Thea aired on BET in reruns during the early and mid 1990's
