- Material for this episode was filmed, but the show was cancelled and wasn't broadcast until it was edited with the "Egypt" segment of Young Indiana Jones and The Curse of the Jackal for airing as The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones and on DVD as "My First Adventure". A notable change is that the story was originally meant to be July 1909.
- The teleplay for the episode indicates that the framing bookends involved the old Indy being present at a beauty pageant/talent show. His story, revolving around a slave boy named Omar who eventually gained his freedom when Morocco abolished slavery and the boys maintained their friendship, inspires one of the contestants to follow her own passions rather than continuing to be pressured by her overbearing mother.
