Plot Overview

In the aftermath of the attack on Hilltop, everyone tries to regroup.

Happenings

• Hilltop suffers significant damage, leading everyone to retreat and rendezvous elsewhere.

• Among the damage is Eugene's radio.

Characters

• While with Alden and Kelly, Mary is able to hold her nephew. They are later chased by walkers where Mary leaves the three to lead them away. She is confronted by Beta who kills her so she can resurrect only for Alden to put her down moments later.

• Half of Beta's skin mask is torn off. Another Whisperer recognises him, saying that his voice sounded familiar. However, Beta kills him before he can give away his identity.

• Magna reunites with Yumiko who reveals that while Connie also made it out of the mine, they were soon separated. Magna also breaks up with Yumiko, but end their relationship amicably.

• Judith hesitates when the walker she's about to strike is a Whisperer, implying she's never killed a living person before. She later helps put down Earl after he failed to kill himself to spare succumbing to a bite.

• Negan runs into Aaron who tries to tell him that it's not what he thinks before walkers leave Aaron to retreat. Negan later takes Lydia and has her tied to a chair in an abandoned building in an unknown location, which she soon escape from. Negan leads Alpha there so she can kill her, only for it to be a setup and he slices her throat. He later delivers her severed head to Carol who had been anticipating him.

The Show

• For the first time since it began airing in accompaniment to the show, Talking Dead did not have a companion episode due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Behind the Scenes

• Was originally to be the 13th episode of the season before being switched with "What We Become" to be the 12th.

Goofs

• In the teaser, one of the walkers getting through the hole in the wall is seen getting shot with an arrow. Almost a minute later, the shot is reused, but now the same walker is seen getting hit with an axe.
