Plot Overview

As the group tries to escape the cave, Alpha wants to find the spy that lead them to the horde.

Happenings

• Alpha believes spies have crossed the border, but Negan deduces and tells her that it's likely Gamma. When Gamma is found to have made it to the border as she was supposed to. Alpha has Beta track her and bring her back to her to deal with.

• The group gets out of the cave, except Magna and Connie who get trapped when the mine caves in. With it taking too much time and the likelihood of the sound attracting walkers and Whisperers, they retreat, but Daryl goes to find another way in to rescue them.

Characters

• Despite Daryl's warning that her obsession with killing Alpha is hurting those around her, she risks her life to plant a stick of dynamite, but it falls, triggering an explosion that winds up endangering Magna and Connie. She breaks down in remorse as Daryl is clearly angry at her, but won't say it.

• As a reward for Negan telling her about Gamma, Alpha offers herself sexually to him.

Negan: I had people. I had a system. I thought they believed in it, just like you. See, the thing is, you stay king or queen long enough, with people telling you all day, every day that your shit don't stink, well, eventually, you start to believe it. The thing is, it still stinks.

Jerry: Yeah, sure. I'm just a 6'2" dude that had trouble fitting into airplane bathrooms. Why wouldn't I be okay?

Aaron: Fair enough.

• Alpha: It took courage to do what you did. And I want to express my gratitude in a way that you will understand.

Negan: Wait. Are you just gonna leave that mask on?

Alpha: Does my true skin disturb you?

Negan: Not at all. Weirdly the opposite.

(Alpha moves in closer)

Negan: Wait. Wait. This isn't some sort of, uh, praying mantis situation, is it? You cut off my head off afterwards? (leans in to kiss her) Yeah, sorry. I can't help but notice that you didn't say no to that. Ah, you know what? It's been a long time. I reckon I will take my chances.
