The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show was the second made for television Tom and Jerry series. CBS had previously aired a package of theatrical cartoons called simply Tom & Jerry.
It featured new episodes of Tom and Jerry along with episodes starring Droopy (along with his nemesis, Tex Avery's wolf who was named Slick Wolf here), Barney Bear and Spike and Tyke, all created through Filmation's low budgets. As a result, stock and repeat animation was used profusely.
