The TV IV:Proposals/In the news
I think it would be a good idea to have a short section on the front page which featured news type items. This could be similar to the Wikipedia in the news section which links to articles about news items. These types of news items could be things like upcoming awards, newly announced series, rating annoucements, and so forth.
At first I got this idea while looking for TV news. I thought, "why can't I get this on TVIV?" And I thought it would be great to have an entire news section, where we actually write the news articles. But I think that's too much for how many participants we have now who are already stretched thin (those who actually do editing). So short one sentence bullet points shouldn't be a problem for anyone. The front page of this template would be protected and the talk page would be used for suggestions and voting (when necessary).

- A TV Squad RSS feed would do the job just fine. -- Lampbane 12:17, 24 July 2006 (EDT)
- Would that wikilink articles about the shows? --MateoP 16:32, 24 July 2006 (EDT)
- Does anyone really want to link articles about over 1500 programs? But to be fair, it probably is possible to do something based on keywords, like how Google text ads work. -- Lampbane 16:39, 24 July 2006 (EDT)
- That would be ok, I guess, but that would surrend us of editorial control and probably would mean news pieces only stay up for a half a day as a opposed to how ever long it takes us to find new stories to take their place. --MateoP 16:45, 24 July 2006 (EDT)
