The Smoking Gun (2005) is an animated sketch comedy series adapted from true stories sold on The Smoking Gun, a website which posts legal documents, arrest records, and mugshots, generally of celebrities. Each story was re-enacted with some comedic embellishment using marionettes. The six-episode series was aired on CourtTV in 2005. In 2006, the series was broadcast on Adult Swim in a test run while the network was considering ordering new episodes. New episodes were not ordered, however, and the Smoking Gun brand is now owned by TruTV.
