The Saint is an action crime drama that aired on ITV. It charted the exploits of Simon Templar, a chancer who never appeared to work for anybody, but specialized in helping anyone who had been on the wrong end of a criminal action even up the score. He was well off and travelled a lot of the world and always seemed to meet someone in trouble, invariably a woman. Always hot on Simon's heels was Inspector Teal, who always saw Simon's methods as illegal and was always trying to catch him out but Simon was always too clever for him.
