Plot Overview
Hired by a woman to prove that her lover's wife killed him, Rockford discovers that the dead man is alive and pulling off an insurance scam, so he tails his client to the small artist colony of Almeria to find them. He has unpleasant dealings with an overbearing Sheriff and a couple of goons, but finds an ally in a kooky model he picked up while she was hitchhiking.
