Plot Overview
Newspaperman Byron Claremont wrote a story about Ben Russell, a onetime fast gun who's been ranching for 20 years. All the article does is draw out a young gun looking to make a name for himself, Panama Billings, who calls out Ben, shooting him down in the street. Lucas McCain doesn't think much of Claremont's brand of journalism and lets him know that. When Claremont's wife Eleanor seems to show an interest in Lucas, Claremont writes him up as being faster with a rifle than anyone with a six-shooter and soon enough, another young gun comes to North Fork, this time gunning for Lucas.
