The Rebus Game was a game show that aired on ABC for six months in 1965. It was inspired in part by NBC's long-running hit Concentration.
Two teams of two players each competed in drawing out objects denoting syllables to words based on a disclosed subject for their partner to identify. The team members alternate in drawing out the syllables. Each correctly guessed syllable is worth ten points, and an additional ten points is scored if the team identifies the word. The high scoring team played the "Rebus Race," identifying as many words broken down as rebuses as they could in a minute for $50 per answer.
Home audiences were entreated to participate in a contest that awarded prizes such as a new car.
