Plot Overview
While stopping for a rest, Johnny is attacked by a man who steals his horse. He recovers quickly from the bushwhacking and is able to stop the thief, who is immediately taken into custody by a posse. Johnny mentions the theft of his horse, which makes the man a candidate for hanging. Returning to town with the judge in charge of the posse, he wonders why there's such a rush to try, convict and hang the man, who insists he's innocent of the charges against him and claims it's a plot to steal his land. The man's daughter visits Johnny and pleads with him to help her father. Making a visit to another town nearby, he discovers evidence that the man is telling the truth and that his 'worthless' farmland is valuable if sold to the right people.
