This is the true story, of seven strangers, picked to live in a house, work together, and have their lives taped, to find out what happens when people stop being polite, and start getting real. The Real World

The Real World is a reality show that currently airs on MTV and is commonly understood to be the first prominent reality television program to air in the United States. The show follows seven people in their late teens and early twenties for several months as the producers record their every action. Every season occurs in a different prominent location, with several seasons occurring overseas.

Along with being known as the second-longest running television program (after COPS), it is also noted for bringing alternative lifestyles into the public consciousness, as The Real World usually has housemates of diverse ethnic, religious, political, and sexual orientation backgrounds.
