The Real is a talk show hosted by Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai, & Garcelle Beauvais and also by former co-hosts Tamar Braxton, Amanda Seales, & Tamera Mowry-Housley. The hour-long talk show aired for four weeks in 2013 on seven Fox-owned markets: New York, Tampa, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Houston.
Three months later, it was announced that the show was greenlit for a national syndication launch, with encores airing on BET as well. On May 22, 2016, Warner Bros. Television announced that Tamar Braxton would depart from the series due to her deciding to focus on her music career as well as continuing to appear on Braxton Family Values. In January 2020, actress & comedienne Amanda Seales joined the cast as a permanent co-host. In June 2020, Seales announced that she departed from the show citing her dissatisfaction with the inability to openly speak on recent social issues. On July 13, 2020, Tamera Mowry-Housley announced her departure from the series due to deciding to focus on her acting career and raising her family. In 2021, Garcelle Beauvais joined the show.
