The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency is a drama about the only female-owned detective agency in Botswana. It is based on Alexander McCall Smith's series of books. The pilot aired on BBC One on March 23, 2008 (Easter Sunday) and the series proper premiered on March 15, 2009. The series beginning with the pilot premiered on HBO on March 29, 2009.
