The Maxx is an animated fantasy series that aired as part of MTV's Oddities alongside The Head on MTV. The series is adapted from The Maxx comics published by Image Comics in the early 1990s, about a homeless man and the woman he protects, both in the real world and in "The Outback" where he's a superhero.
