From The TV IV

The Master is an adventure drama program that aired on NBC. It tells the story of John McAllister, the only occidental American to take the discipline of a Ninja. He settles in Japan and joins a Ninja sect for 30 years, but discovers he has daughter living in America. He decides to leave his sect but finds out that this is dishonorable, and he will be marked for death if he does. So one night he leaves anyway. Ninja Master Osaka has been given the job of finding and killing McAllister, this becomes a running thing in the series. Upon reaching the US he meets a drifter Max Keller, who decides to travel with McAllister and look for his daughter with him, whilst picking up a Ninja trick or two along the way.
