The Master is an adventure drama program that aired on NBC.
The Master tells the story of John McAllister, the only occidental American to take up the discipline of a Ninja. He settles in Japan and joins a Ninja sect for 30 years, but discovers he has a daughter living in America. He decides to leave his sect but finds out that doing so would be dishonorable, and he will be marked for death if he does. So one night he leaves anyway. Ninja Master Okasa has been given the job of finding and killing McAllister, which becomes a running theme in the series. Upon reaching the US, he meets a drifter Max Keller, who decides to travel with McAllister and look for his daughter with him, while picking up a Ninja trick or two along the way.
Viacom Productions produced the series. CBS Television Distribution owns the distribution rights to the show, although it has not re-aired since its original 1984 run.
