The Man Who Lost His Head is a comedy drama. Ian Bennet, an uptight curator for the British Imperial Museum in London, is sent to a remote village in New Zealand to negotiate the repatriation of the carved head of Māori chief Takataka. The Māori villagers believe they will continue to suffer bad luck until the artifact is returned.
