The Loretta Young Show was an anthology series hosted by Loretta Young. It was the first anthology series hosted by a woman; the show was well known for Young's dramatic entrances and glamorous dresses. The series was set up on a format about letters from viewers which then became the teleplays. However, this format was dropped after a while and instead similarly theme stories were written affirming the 1950s middle class values.
