The five-part miniseries The Last Enemy is a conspiracy thriller set in the immediate future. When a mathematician returns after four years of self-imposed exile for the funeral of his estranged brother, he becomes the target of several shadowy conspiracy groups.
At the time the show premiered, the depicted total surveillance in Britain was still—barely—science fiction.
