The Jackson 5ive was an animated musical series airing Saturday mornings on ABC. It was the Motown pop group as cartoon figures.

The series was basically an animated sitcom with the Jacksons with the musical numbers thrown in. Accompanying the boys were two mice--Ray and Charles--and a pet snake named Rosie.

Animation was affected in London by the Halas and Bachelor studio under the production auspices of Rankin-Bass/Videocraft. Robert Balser, the show's character designer, was an animation director for the Beatles' movie Yellow Submarine. The Jackson 5ive was one of two cartoon series cited by Action for Children's Television as a quality program.

Although DreamWorks Classics (formerly Classic Media) owns the ancillary rights to the series (due to its ownership of the pre-1974 Rankin/Bass catalogue), CBS Television Distribution (as successor-in-interest to original distributor Worldvision Enterprises) is the show's TV distributor.
