Plot Overview
While sleeping on a park bench near a beach one night, David is arrested for vagrancy by a police officer and put in a paddy wagon with Tom Wallace, a mentally unstable escapee from a psychiatric hospital who believes he is Ernest Hemingway. After a few moments of rambling incoherently along with memory flashes of his time spent in the hospital (where he evidently received electroshock therapy for his condition, which is later revealed as a false memory), Tom suddenly attacks and assaults David, causing David to turn into the Hulk, who then forces Tom to back off before he smashes out the paddy wagon's doors and gets out, then overturns the wagon before running off. When David later learns that the Hulk's actions resulted in Tom escaping custody, he sets out to make amends by looking for Tom and, with help from Tom's friend Robert, tries to convince him to turn himself in.
