The Girlfriend is a new take on a rom-com. It revolves around Crystal Chase — a 30-something toiling away in Bakersfield, California — whose life is turned upside down when she finally meets "the one"...Too bad "the one" is the prime suspect in his wife's mysterious disappearance. This is a subversive romantic comedy about a woman struggling with her soul as she evolves from a local nobody into the nationally infamous "girlfriend."
