Fred Flintstone is a caveman who lives in the stone age town of Bedrock. He is married to Wilma, and they have one child, Pebbles. He also has a pet dinosaur, Dino.
His best friend and next door neighbor is Barney Rubble. They both work at a quarry where their boss is Mr. Slate; and they both are members of the fraternal organization, the Loyal Order of Water Buffalos Lodge.
Fred can be hot-headed at times and all too often gets mixed up in various scams and confidence games.
Fred Flintstone is based in large part on the character Ralph Cramden from the 1950's sitcom The Honeymooners.
