Plot Overview
The girls, Beverly Ann and Andy travel to Sydney, Australia to take part in a cultural exchange program at the Koolunga School, Eastland Academy's Australian sister school. Along the way, Blair and Jo get caught up in a caper involving a stolen opal and meet two local men named Nick Aintree and Kevin Colton, both claiming to be police officers in pursuit of jewel thieves who took the opal; Natalie and Tootie travel to the Outback, where Natalie goes exploring with cattle rancher Ren Calley (and unwittingly discovers the missing opal in her backpack, placed there by Blair and Jo) and Tootie meets a man she assumes at first is an Aborigine, but who she later discovers is actually American anthropologist Dr. David Johnson; and Beverly Ann reunites with old boyfriend Roger Pitt and rekindles their romance as she and Andy travel to meet him and his daughter at Roger's sheep ranch.
