Plot Overview
Paul Clementi, Edward Clementi, Leo Roland--Obstruction of Justice, Murder
A grand jury witness is assassinated before he is to testify about his dealings with high-ranking mobsters Leo Roland and Ed Clementi. Erskine works to protect yet another witness, while the close bond between Clementi and Roland begins to deteriorate: all Clementi wants to do is reunite with his estranged wife, who wants nothing to do with him because of his mob ties, while Roland fears Clementi will break down and spill everything to the FBI. Clementi is also unaware that the assassin, nicknamed 'Cupid' because he shoots his victims in the heart, is his nephew Paul, a college student. Roland, who hired Paul, doesn't realize that the young killer is dating his daughter, a nurse who wants nothing to do with her mobster father. Paul winds up killing the next witness to testify, but before he dies, the man belts him in the mouth, causing him to lose a tooth at the crime scene.

Trivia
The Show
The two episodes comprising this two-parter are the only ones, aside from the first-season episode "The Hiding Place", not featured in the syndication package. This is because Warner Bros., feeling that the cast was strong enough, edited the two parts together and released it overseas as a theatrical film, Cosa Nostra, Enemy of the F.B.I. The two episodes do appear on the second season DVD set, though, with the entire title sequence (including the Ford logo) and Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. reminding the audience to tune in for the conclusion (at the end of Part One) and, at the end of Part Two, Zimbalist appears again, to remind viewers that they will not be on the following week, as ABC will have a special movie presentation of The Robe.
